Their sophomore record As Above, So Below (2016) laid a Sabbath-strata, from which they’ve launched a legion of dedicated followers as well as attracted bookings for festival dates and tours around the world with everyone from Meat Puppets to Fleetwood Mac.
Stonefield’s latest single ‘Delusion’, and first for Flightless Records, demonstrates a shift from the hardened psych pop of earlier records toward more prog and heavy metal. Heavy waves of operatic synth and tubular bells ring below guitars and sinister mellotron lines - the track feels like it's sending a warning that humans don't belong in space.
From the band: "Delusion was inspired by an overwhelming feeling of knowing you are a speck in the universe, getting lost in your own mind. We ventured away from classic song structure to create more of a journey, exploring synth sounds to support our love of a hypnotic sounding riff."
