Max and the Martians play songs of love and dogs. They are a New Orleans-based rock and roll dance band comprised of an eclectic mix of musicians.
Songwriter and band leader Max Bien-Kahn grew up in San Francisco and moved to New Orleans in 2011. He began busking on Royal Street in various jazz and country bands before starting his own project Max and the Martians. He released his first full-length album in 2016 and the EP Curtains earlier this year and was a frequent session musician featured all over the Mashed Potato Records Volume I&II Compilations. He is active in the songwriting community of New Orleans and is known as being a versatile musician, from playing in the traditional jazz band Tuba Skinny to the country/folk Esther Rose band.
