Tin Roof Echo, the recording moniker for Asheville, NC based musician, Joe Hooten, has evolved from its humble beginnings as a bedroom-folk project to the solo performing artist that he is today.
Hooten has independently recorded & released five DIY albums, four full-length and one EP of original music. Most recently, three albums of live material have also been released to highlight his solo performances. He has appeared on Asheville's 98.1 the River's "Homegrown For the Holidays" compilation in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He is also a member of the Asheville Songwriters Association and the NC Songwriter's Co-op. Currently he has reached the qualifying round for the 2nd annual Tennessee Songwriter's Week competition.
Hooten has performed as a headliner and at various songwriter showcases & fundraising events in the Asheville area. He has played for audiences on such legendary stages as: The Grey Eagle, White Horse Tavern, The Barrelhouse, Pillar Rooftop Bar, Sly Grog, Jack of the Wood, Noble Kava, The Coffee Garage, Alley Cat Social Club, The Flood Gallery, Twin Leaf Brewing, Sanctuary Brewing, Hopey & Co., UpCountry Brewing, One World Brewing (downtown), Salvage Station, Boojum Brewing, The Reeves Theater, Palmetto Brewing, Tommy Condon's, Asheville Guitar Bar, Blue Mountain Pizza, Haiku I Do, City Lights Cafe, Bonnie Kate Theater, and Whistlebinkies in Scotland.
