In 1977, at the age of 15 he joined the band Black Label that had a moderate success locally in Søgne at the southern tip of Norway. This band lasted until 1981 when the members left for various kinds of education.
It was in this period he started making songs and recording them at home using two cassette decs and a hommade mixer.
In the following years he had brief appearances in different bands including releasing an EP with Ryman and Stockfunkel and the Shupp Shudupp Band.
In 1994, after moving to Drammen, he formed the band Betenkt wich existed in various incarnations until 2005.
In 2010 he formed the band Kjellerbanden that played only cover songs. He is still playing guitar and doing some vocals in this band.
In the spring of 2016 he was encouraged by Kai Stokkeland, a former member of Black Label, to take his home recordings and make a CD.
The re-redcordings started in the summer of 2016 with Kai Stokkeland as co-producer.
The recordngs was finished in the spring of 2018 resulting in the album "Vinden og Havet".
