Bay Area natives Mark Montgomery French and Sage Warne Baggott, aka Spiky Blimp, have spent decades as music collaborators.
In the ’90s they were the guitarist and drummer of progressive funk band Endangered Species. In 2004 they produced and scored the jazz-noir short film mantis: the original score. 2016 saw the release of Mark’s bristle-pop EP One Is Exotic, Two Is a Threat., which they co-produced. Sage has also performed with Cuban dance band Orquesta La Moderna Tradición, a capella choir Conspiracy of Beards, Awesöme Orchestra Collective, Los Lobos guitarist/singer David Hidalgo, famed songwriter and Beach Boys collaborator Van Dyke Parks, and many more.
Spiky Blimp is their foray into film composition, weaving their talents in rock, orchestral, Afro-Cuban, ambient, funk, industrial and jazz music for the screen. They believe original stories need original music.
