Duff was born in New York City to a family of classical musicians and raised in rural New Jersey. Long travels yielded the debut "400 Miles," recorded with bass player Rick Barrio Dill (Vintage Trouble) and drummer George Bernardo. It was named a top release for 2005 by Music Connection Magazine. “Suddenly” was used on MTV.
The jubilant “Good Things” followed in 2008 on Single Recordings with help from Rick Barrio Dill, Mike Stinson, Tony Gilkyson, Taras Prodaniuk. After a short spell of goofing off, Duff's record “My Story Is The Same” (2017), produced by Ted Wulfers and Todd Herfindal, featured a new solo acoustic direction with pop melodies, driving rhythms and soulful topics.
In 2019, Duff released a new solo acoustic record "More Than I Should," with 10 tracks & Wulfers/Herfindal sonics. A full band EP with Tom Bishel also emerged under the name Origin Story that same year.
Duff is currently at work on a number of projects, including his next solo acoustic record, due in summer 2020.
