Meraki, brainchild of award winning composer and pianist Jacky Naylor, are set for their debut release in August 2020 on Ubuntu Music. Forged in Birmingham, it includes Double Bassist Nick Jurd (Soweto Kinch) and BBC Radio Scotland Young Jazz Musician of the Year Jonathan Silk (Forj/Mike Fletcher), and was born out of a desire to play complex contemporary music inspired by the great European jazz trios. Four years in the making, the album was recorded in April 2019, directly after their 8 date UK tour. The trio effortlessly travels through the various moods, emotions and complexities of Naylor’s original music, whilst dynamically interacting.
