The chamber orchestra Cameristi della Scala, formed by the musicians of the orchestra of Teatro alla Scala di Milano, was founded in 1982.
The orchestra has a unique identity in which they regularly perform in the formation with and without a conductor. Cameristi della Scala often features the wonderful section leaders of the La Scala orchestra as soloists and also regularly performs with many well-known instrumentalists such as Daniel Müller-Schott, Khatia Buniatishvili, Jan Lisiecki, Sergei Babayan, Alexei Volodin, Daniel Lozakovich, Giovanni Sollima, Julius Berger etc. The artistic influence from celebrated great conductors working at Teatro alla Scala of the past and present contribute significantly to the character and the sound of Cameristi della Scala, unmistakable for its distinct Italian sound and musical phrasing. Cameristi della Scala has performed in many prestigious venues, concert halls and music festivals around the world such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Library of Congress in Washington DC, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Tonhalle in Zürich, Mann Auditorium in Tel Aviv, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Enescu Festival in Bucharest, Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires. In collaboration with the celebrated Italian danseur Roberto Bolle who is one of the principal dancer étoile at Teatro alla Scala, Cameristi della Scala was featured together with Mr. Bolle in a performance during 2018 World Economic Forum in Davos.
