Madeleine Robinson and Josh Wyatt met in 2015 when Josh was working in a coffee shop and Madeleine stared at him until they were in a band.
Before then, Josh had been making electronic music and beatboxing, while Madeleine was singing solo folk at restaurants with her guitar. Turns out, when you combine electronic beatbox music and acoustic folk, you end up with Something Better. Combining these two very disparate sounds was surprisingly easy. Josh brought driving rhythms to contrast Madeleine's soothing melodies. However, after a few years, Madeleine was writing an occasional song that resembled 90's rock, while Josh would come out with an indie bluegrass guitar line. They are both equal in their lyric writing and their best songs are created as a collaboration. They are both focused on unique shifts in mood and rhythm, as well as lyrical depth through a stark honesty of emotions.
