A trip through the cold landscape in Iceland at the end of 2018 brought inspiration to the inseparable twin sisters Madelon and Danielle Bruinhof.
The duo fell right in place with the Scandinavian landscape, hence the northern-sounding band name which means "valuable" in Swedish. The twins are therefore inspired by northern acts such as Björk, Vök and pop artist Tove Lo. Their shared love for dark pop music forms the basis, where icy synth sounds and wide echoing guitars flowing through the music as a common thread.
LÖNA will release new singles throughout 2020, covering topics such as "slut shaming" and the representation of "LGBTQ+".
