After years of practice and learning to craft western pop tracks and hip hop beats on his computer he defied the odds and his dream finally came true when at the age of 22 he relocated to the United States as a refugee from his war torn homeland and began pursuing his music career in earnest.
In 2017 an unofficially released track he produced called, “Time” made its way from MKJ’s SoundCloud page all the way around the globe landing in the greater China region where it became a meme and viral sensation. The song, with its signature saxophone dance break, has spawned nearly 4 million videos on the TikTok app, over 400 million streams and reached #1 on the China Shazam charts for three weeks! Back home his music also caught the attention of tastemakers such as Chill Nation, The Vibe Guide, and Mr.Revillz. All this led to representation by Music City East Management, worldwide touring opportunities and an exclusive distribution agreement with the China music tech giant, NetEase Cloud.
