In 2017 he debuted with both as a artist with his first song, and as a live performer at Melodi Grand Prix in Oslo Spektrum, and toured in Latvia, England, Israel and The Netherlands, before playing at the Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine for almost 200 million people. Followed by playing at VG Lista Rådhusplassen.
One of the most crucial moments for JOWST, was when he realised that he actually liked pop music. JOWST debuted in early 2017, and got a national hit the same year. JOWST is inspired by the grooviness from HipHop, the energy from EDM and the melancholy from alternative rock, in a Pop music package.Taking advantage of the software and not being afraid of mixing genres. You would expect a vocal or a guitar to sound like a synth, and a synth to sound like a orchestral instrument.
His influences are filled with American rock- and metal bands who has been in the top charts, but has gone more over to mainstream music the recent years, as Zedd, Clean Bandit, The Chainsmokers and Jack Ü, but he finds it inspiring to listen to a new artist he's never heard before.
JOWST is currently finishing enough songs to fill a whole album, even though he says he never will release one.
