BCP (Acronym for 'Basement Cluster Project') was formed in the summer of 2000 in Lund, Sweden by students Alexander Ahlstrand (b.
1977) and Nils Pihlblad (b. 1979). The two had attended high school together and previously worked on a short film project, scored by Ahlstrands then band 'Soundescape'. BCP intended to produce electronic noise music and/or music inspired by industrial acts such as @Nine Inch Nails, @einstürzende neubauten and such.
But as work progressed BCP soon found themselves to be more prone to random audio experimentation and acoustic blues.
The band was highly productive during their first year producing an album entitled "Contrary To Public Belief" as well as penning, at least, two singles and one EP. Neither product saw public release due to several unforseen circumstances. By fall 2001, BCP stopped creating music.
During the following years, Ahlstrand and Pihlblad would occasionally cooperate musically and artistically on various projects including another short film from 2002 simply titled "Chicken". The two planned for a BCP soundtrack but the project was mothballed. The soundtrack was, sporadically, worked on over the following years but with no final mix produced.
BCP released two singles 'Little Brother Rabbit' and 'Evil Clown' on Spotify in 2016, and 2017 respectively. Following this initial launch,
Ahlstrand and Pihlblad reignited their musical collaboration and are now planning new albums.
