Secretly, she has been working on her own material, but it never felt like the right place or time to put everything together, until now.
After playing around in a friend’s studio in 2017, things started to fall into place. Anna brought her demos and recorded them again, but now together with a number of friends and musicians like Peter Morén (Peter Bjorn and John), Ola Winkler, Nils Berg (Nils Berg Cinemascope), Fredrik Hermansson, Hanna Ekström, and Anna Dager.
The result is a cinematic and dynamic sound, featuring organic instrumentation with baroque pop and folk-rock influences together with Anna’s unpolished and honest voice that reminds of Kate Bush, Lana del Rey, and Joni Mitchell.
In 2019 she recorded a second version of Will You Let Me Wear Your Shirt Tonight after the first recording met an unfortunate fate:
“Will You Let Me Wear Your Shirt Tonight came to me when I studied music production several years ago. I stayed in the school's studio and lost track of time until a security guard threw me out. The song remained on the school's server and when I returned it was gone, but somehow it got stuck in my head and I have never forgotten it after all these years."
