PYRAME is the story of someone who travelled the world extensively: Lausanne, Geneva, Paris, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore.
With a master degree in physics in his pocket the doors were wide open for David Naville, aka PYRAME. But at one point he decided to do it the Bryan May way: putting his analytical sense of mind into something more creative and heartfelt: music.
His first EP grooves with noticeable cosmic and French pop influences, strong beats, a touch of disco, with poetic and melancholic lyrics and offers a diverse range of indietronica songs, connected by a cohesive storyline about love and affection, relationships and freedom. His lyrics display a touch of surrealism and fantasy and the whole project is linked to ancient mythology, “Pyramus and Thisbe” being described as a couple of ill-fated lovers by the ancient poet Ovid.
The artwork of the EP and each single connect Greek art and mythology with a modern retro-futuristic design. Underlining the visual aspect of PYRAME's exploration of key themes in human relationships, all songs of the EP are depicted in music videos which are connected to each other. The actress Valentine Romanski plays the same woman throughout each video. Going from „Platonic“ meetings into serious questions regarding relationships („Where Are We Now?“) towards realizing the possibilities inherent in this world and in oneself which can lead to „A Fine Life“ and a feeling of „Losing Control“ in a sense of self-liberation and freedom.
