Edward has been described as, “an inspired and intuitive composer” (Granadier String Quartet), with his music having an, “intrinsically expressive quality” (Saman Shahi, composer). He values collaboration in the creation of new artistic works, while bringing a fresh perspective to classic works through inventive programming and presentation. His piece “Unimagined Light” for virtual live choir was the winner of the Canadian Chamber Choir’s 2020 Composition Competition and was recorded live by the ensemble across Canada. Residencies in 2021 include stints with the Amadeus Choir of Toronto, the Labo de musique contemporaine de Montréal, and the piano/percussion duo SHHH!! Ensemble.
Edward holds a doctorate of music in performance from l’Université de Montréal.
