KYOTI is a product of three minds working together to create pop music with something to say. Consisting of Ed Burgon (voice), David Mabbott (keys) and Benji Huntrods (drums), the group originally met in Newcastle before moving to London. Here they embarked on creating electronic music that spans style and mood and always has an emphasis on conveying a strong message.
Prior to project twelve the trio released the single ‘Restart The World’ in 2019 under the label Seahorse Music which was then picked up by Kitsuné Music. This followed the success of their first EP ‘Orbit’ and follow up single ‘Avalon’ both released in 2017.
KYOTI has a wild and energetic live show that ties together their songs with projections, a light show, and instrumental interludes. They are influenced by a huge range of music, from jazz artists like Snarky Puppy, contemporary singer-songwriters like John Grant, and electronic music producers such as SOHN and Bonobo. Their sound has been likened to Hot Chip, Alt-J and the Pet Shop Boys.
