In 2020, Sacramento News and Review named The Bad Barnacles the best Indy Band and Live Performer for the city. The awards coincided with a worldwide pandemic, thus the Barnacles have to receded to warmer waters, recording their second full length album: Holy Water. The album will be released as a series of singles over the course of 2020 and 2021.
For 2021, the band has begun recording their third full album. Now a three piece, the dark gypsy surf music is evolving into an even darker West Coast version of its former self, taking influence from Spaghetti Westerns, 50s rock’n’roll and 60s psychedelic rock.
