A seasoned artist with a career spanning over more than a decade, Beatrice had a first break with the song "Nilizaliwa", which was featured on BBC by the late Charlie Gillett and solidified her place as a songwriter.
Another milestone came in the shape of Coming Home, Beatrice's debut release in 2008 recorded and produced by Ivan Anchant. A tribute to her multicultural heritage, the album was pivotal in her artistic journey, becoming the spark that ignited several other projects including the 2014 album Naked under the moniker Carmine Rose.
Beatrice Kateme-Byakika is now ready to release a new set of songs, born out of a close creative relationship with Anchant and deeply rooted in her characteristic honest songwriting. You can hear echoes of East African and world music melting away into her classic pop and r&b, occasionally taking centre-stage when she sings in different dialects.
