Val Astaire, accompanied by the Massachusetts based pop-band The Communion, will be releasing Val’s debut album “...Don’t Call Me Valentine” this spring.
The records first single The No Funs is what Val describes as ‘an attempt to preserve a mental state unhindered by political, religious or social status.’
The release comes just one year after The Communion’s first introduction to the world supporting Bad Rabbits last May.
The members of The Communion have spent the better part of the last decade covering more than 60 countries collectively through an array of separate musical outlets. Through touring together and collaborating on a multitude of levels, The Communion was conceived through the ideas and creative direction of singer Val Astaire. With the artistic and sonic composition of guitarist, producer and songwriter Chris Curran, The Communion introduced long time songwriter and singer Michael Adams on bass. The percussionist backbone of Christian Mullen and creative layering of guitar and synth by Matthew Chila completed The Communions sound.
