Ignite Mindz and his wife Kayla Marie make hip hop music with hard drums and lush instrumentation on the Roland Fantom X 7 and Logic Pro.
Ignite plays keys or bass guitar on stage while rapping. They’re from Winston-Salem NC, the land of the Camel cigarette company. They push lyrics about life and love through a Neumann U87 or a large ribbon mic. Kayla has been classically trained as a singer from a young age. Ignite started rapping at 14 after breaking his arm skateboarding one summer. He’s done songs with Wordsworth from Lyricist Lounge and opened up for Naughty By Nature. He learned making beats on a free version of Fruity Loops at college. He is in a group called Ignite and Imagery as well as a live hip hop band called I&I+3.
