Sergey Konovalov is a Russian composer and performer, based in St. Petersburg. His influences are attained from lifelong passions and workings in the Sciences, Medicine, Therapy and Well Being.
His recordings are described as romantic, enchanting and uplifting.
His music has a classical style with a modern twist, which create an emotional significance of meandering, arrhythmic deviations, infusing melodic and rhythmic contrasts. Sergey’s composed and played on 9 studio albums, performs solo and supports orchestras internationally.
He focused on his writing in recent years, now returning to his love of music, which is championed by an ever-widening international audience.
He is working on his 10th studio album, due for release in 2021.
Konovalov has had the honour of having his music used and inspiring medal winning Russian Figure Skaters at Olympic Games and World Championships. The composition ‘Stream’, was broadcast worldwide at the 1988 Calgary Olympics during the free programme of Larisa Selezneva and Oleg Makarov (wining Bronze). Selezneva and Makarov won Gold in Prague and Yerevan, Silver in Vienna 1987, performing programmes accompanied by the music of Sergey Konovalov.
He was awarded the ‘Nike of Crystal Prize’ at the 2013 Moscow Festival of Figure Skating for his contribution to the sport.
His understanding of music’s communicative magnetism and rhythmic structure have helped develop his healing music, creating healthy vibrations and immersive emotional connections
