This melting pot of references began in January 2014 in a tiny cramped home studio where Alexandre Lima and André Gomes started writing a series of songs under the pseudonym of Gold Koala.
Their sound fully landed with the arrival of Rafael Palermo and Thiago Belini, and with it the band’s name: LLOYD, as a reference to Stanley Kubrick´s“The Shining” bartender, which unleashes hell in main character Jack Torrence´s mind.
In 2016, a series of gigs established the band on the independent circuit of the city, during this period they met and start a friendship with singer songwriter and producer Charly Coombes.
The brit from Oxford, who played session guitar and keyboards for bands such as Supergrass and Graham Coxon (Blur), eventually produced the band's first EP (broken pavement) and first álbum (rendering the corners ahead).
In 2017, Luiz Gonzaga Junior took the drumsticks for the band, now with an energetic and bulky live drum set, the band's show became even more lively and intense.
