The Atif prefers to let his music do the talking for him.
Ever since he was young, music held a power over him that was unexplainable and infectious. ‘60s and ‘70s rock-n-roll music like The Doors and Led Zeppelin made him fall in love with it as he started writing poetry based on his favorite songs before progressing to original lyrics. The innovative pop and electronic sounds of the ‘80s soon led him to pick up the keyboard as his instrument of choice, and it wasn’t long before he developed his own unique sound. The New York City-based artist has the range of Robert Plant and the stage presence of young Freddie Mercury, all wrapped up into rock music that encapsulates the emotion of the current times. He would release his debut solo album “Sadaa” with Universal before taking a break to redefine his sound and learn the guitar. He would drop an album dedicated to his idol Michael Jackson after his death, and go on to be exiled from his home country of Pakistan after his song “Go Nawaz Go” critiqued the PM. By 2018 he was back in full-swing with a successful single produced by Joshua J.D. Walker and a new album, “Sexcursion,” released the following year to critical and comical acclaim while generating a solid, loyal fan base. His latest project, “Treasure Trove,” is set to assert The Atif as one of the most innovative rock musicians of our time!
