Shawn Martin is an independent musician and filmmaker from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
In 2006, he founded Mantissa Records, a music label to release a collection of instrumental tracks he composed and recorded. The Hell I've Created was released in November of 2006 to a very limited audience and featured a collection of instrumentals that would later appear on his vocal albums with newly recorded lyrics, and often times new titles.
In 2008, Deoxide was released to a very limited audience.
In 2010, came the release of The Troubled Trash EP, an album containing a few variations of his song They Say I'm Troubled as well as Throwing Out the Trash.
In 2011, Martin released his second all instrumental album, A Curious Thing. The album was released digitally and under a Creative Commons license.
In January of 2012, Monoxide, Martin's second vocal album was released in a standard and deluxe edition which featured a remixed version of They Say I'm Troubled - The 2009 Version.
In 2015, Alternative Discretion was released which contains a collection of Martin's favourite songs of his own. That same year came the release of Twinkle Twinkle Alphabet, a hard rock mix of two classic novelty songs.
After a rebranding of his company in 2017, Joseph James Entertainment became Problem Entertainment. In addition, he moved from Joseph James Records to SR71 Records in 2018.
As of 2018, he has been only producing music for other artists.
