Swedish singer/songwriter Janne Svenssons debut album Hej Hörrudu was released in 1971 when he was 19 years of age.
1974-1977 he worked as a professional artist and had a minor hit with the single Hem till Söder. A second single Mitt Livs Tragedi was released without recognition. In 1981 his second album När Blir Det Min Tur? was released.
In 1984 Janne started the label Joker Musik with the release of the single Äventyret with his group Elfte Timmen. Joker was the first Swedish independent label to release a cd - Nordic Sounds, volume 2 in 1989. Furthermore albums with Swedish groups In The Colonnades, All Steel Coaches and The Lee Harvey Oswald Ensemble.
In 2009 Janne founded the label Lingostal with the release of the compilation Hem till Söder with his most popular plus eight new songs. All previous releases on Joker Musik were digitally re-released. In January 2013 the producers of a Swedish tv-show discovered the single Hem till Söder from 1973 and used it as a vignette. After five seasons the song became a huge hit with over one million streams.
In August 2015 Janne was invited by the Swedish group Weeping Willows as guest on three occasions with his song Hem till Söder. Together later that year they recorded seven new songs. It resulted in the album Vi Kommer Från Söder which was released in June 2016 on the Lingostal label. Additional eleven of Jannes new songs were recorded late 2016 with release of the album Det Brinner En Eld in October 2017.
