Interior architect and musician Vladimir Kurumilian is born in Beirut on August 18, 1988. He starts his piano lessons at the Lebanese National Conservatory at the age of 5 in Beirut while attending School and goes on through College.
Aside from his many independent performances in Beirut, Paris, and Rome, Vladimir has three big improvisation projects attached to his resume: ‘Quand Le Rythme Devient Obsessionnel’ at Théâtre Monnot in 2009, ‘A Piano In My Pillow’, a sound and light collaboration with light designer Alaa Minawi at Théâtre Monnot in 2012, and ‘Ana Bahlam Bik’ (‘I Dream of You’), an improvised piano cover of Warda’s famous love song ‘Batwanness Bik’, in a vintage studio in Paris in 2017 before touring in Lebanon and Rome with the performance. In 2017, Vladimir features on the international music sessions ‘Sofar Sounds’.
Vladimir has collaborated with several Lebanese and foreign bands and artists ever since he started, including The Incompetents’ Serge Yared, Lazzy Lung’s Allan Chaaraoui, electronic producer Liliane Chlela, percussionist Karim Khneisser, vocalist Assil Ayash, Adonis, pianist Haley Kalenberg, filmmaker Jocelyn Saab, and filmmaker Mazen Khaled.
In 2018, Vladimir Kurumilian releases his album ‘Dopamine’, an electronic/piano album, which includes 7 original tracks, produced in Rome with Luca Longobardi, Italian pianist, composer and producer, and mixed and mastered in Beirut with Ziad Moukarzel.
