Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow, loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, set the oppressed free and break every yoke, share your bread with the hungry, bring the poor and homeless into your home, clothe the naked when you see him, and not turn away from your brother or enemy, rescue those being led away to death, and restrain those stumbling toward the slaughter, rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor, do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow, break your iniquities by showing mercy to the oppressed. Is this not what We have told you from the start?
We know that You are poisoned by bitterness and captive to iniquity. And so hold fast to what We have told you from the start.
