Hailing from Cornwall, Ontario, SwitchGear broke into the country scene in 2012. Their passion fueled chemistry has driven them to collectively write many songs teeming with ultra-catchy sing along choruses. Their music fuses original bright melodies with arena ready riffs, generating exciting anthems and sentimental songs in their purest form. SwitchGear is a five piece original modern country group that loves to keep fans on their feet, through performing an energetic entertaining show. The band draws inspiration from the newest and hottest country acts, like Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line and Dierks Bentley. SwitchGear has supported acts such as the legendary Burton Cummings, Dean Brody, Emerson Drive, Doc Walker, Small Town Pistols, Good Brothers, Greg Hanna, and Hoyt Hughes. Radio support has begun to embrace SwitchGear music, via such stations as 97.7 the Beach, 96.5 wild Country, MYFM. SwitchGear won the emerging artist contest on Kamloops 103.1 SwitchGear has won the 2013 Seeker award for the musical artist of the year. SwitchGear’s independently released debut CD entitled “Country in the City” is available through digital distribution on the major online retailers such as itunes, Emusic, CD Baby, Bandcamp and Reverbnation. SwitchGear is a proud member of the Canadian Country Music Association. SwitchGear has also been featured on the CJSS 1019.FM Breakfast Show, and OWN Network's show "All For Nothing.
