The videoclip of "Brexit" was shot in Bassano del Grappa, a nice town not far from Venice, by the director Aldo Grammatica.
If you are wonderig why “Brexit” has been chosen as the most representative song of the eponymous EP, the answer is: this song is the one that better blends the different artistic souls of the in3pido's members and nevertheless this song has the strongest impact of actuality.
Talking about musical genre, Brexit is built on a typical English rock riff of the 70's that you can easily recognize on the verse (UK became a ECC member in 1973). By the way, listening to the refrain, you can discover a melodic style, also typical of those years while lyrics are definitely actual.
And here is the Kicker about this new song: the Lyrics. This amazing text tells the story of a her Majesty's subject who woke up in disbelief at the news of what had happened after the Brexit referendum. At first sight this text could seem quite simple but inside the lyrics is hidden a scholarly citation : A sentence of “The rime of the ancient mariner” by Samuel T. Coleridge,
“...'twas right, said they, such birds to slay...” in Brexit song becomes :” ...'twas right, said they, such a union to slay.”
