Formerly known as "Abysseral Throne" an ECMA nominated Blackened Metal outfit hailing from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada which enjoyed some successes opening for the likes of Beyond Creation, Vital Remains, The Faceless and others as well as embarking on some tours of their own supporting their 2016 release "Storming the Black Gate"After some major lineup changes and a relocation to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 2017, The band set to work writing and exploring new sonic textures and territories with a more conceptual approach compared to their previous work.
Wanting to reflect this shift in stylistic and musical approach the band rebranded themselves as "Ancient Thrones" and spent most of 2018 and 2019 writing and honing this new musical direction, adding more death metal and progressive elements to the mix.Now in 2020 the band is set to unveil the next evolution of their sound with their debut single "The Soul to Flesh"
