L.A. duo courtship. formed in 2016 when area musicians Micah Gordon and Eli Hirsch decided to stop playing in rock band Bloodboy and branch out with a new collaborative project.
Both had spent a lot of time in the L.A. indie scene acting as supporting musicians (Gordon playing in Tobias Jesso, Jr.'s band and Hirsch doing time with Ethan Burns, Dreamers, and others), but with courtship. they focused on their songwriting and production skills. The results were electronic indie pop with crystal-clear hooks, delivered concisely on their first single, "Stop for Nothing." The band's electronic underpinnings were driven further home by a series of remixes of their tracks from producers such as Body Language and EMBRZ. The band continued with subsequent singles "Love for Everyone" and "Sail Away" ~ Fred Thomas
