O Que Será - Zé Vieira
Sónia Oliveira was born on February 17, 1985, in Sintra.
Started music studies at the age of 9 and vocal studies at age 12; had become involved with the jazz universe around the age of 15, but kept always an eclectic row of influences.
Her first album, "Sónia Oliveira", was released in 2006 with original pop compositions in collaboration with producer Vítor Salgueiral.
"Páginas" was her second pop/rock album, released in 2011.
In 2014 Sonia had collected a number of music studies that were essential experiences for her approach to the jazz world.
In 2016 she released the album "Encontro".
This one, consisting of new versions of jazz standards, bossa nova and Portuguese music, presents the listener with a different duo in each song, bringing together the guests Carlos Garcia on the piano, Zé Miguel Vieira on guitar, accordionist João Barradas, bassist André Ferreira and trumpeter João Moreira. A very minimal and intimate proposal.
At the same time she has collaborated with the projects "Uma Coisa Em Forma de Assim" and "Pedro e os Lobos".
Sonia’s new album, "Paz", is dedicated to the instrumental voice and will be available in late 2018. This music is her most emotional so far, but also came in the context of the research project the singer developed during the accomplishment of a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance, completed in 2017 at ESML.
