His unique sound began taking shape on back roads in north Texas traveling between his mom in Granbury, and his dad in Alvarado, listening to a mixture of artists like- Radney Foster, Mark Chestnut, Charlie Robison, Clay Walker, The Eagles, AC/DC, and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Shortly before his mother's passing in 2015, TD made his first release, an acoustic EP, 'Living Simply, which was recognized by Texas Music Pickers as the #16 debut release by a new artist. Despite this low point, Tyler continued to branch out musically, taking solace in the sounds of envied singer/songwriters like Sturgill Simpson, Ryan Bingham, Hayes Carl, Cody Jinks, Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt.
Since marrying his high school sweetheart in 2017, Tyler has continued to carve out a distinctive sound on the North Texas circuit playing at well known venues such as The Forge in Ben Wheeler, TX, and The House of Blues Foundation Room in Dallas, TX.
As an independent artist, Tyler released his first single- “Background Music” on 1/18/17. It made its way on two separate charts(TRRR, CDX-Texas) peaking as high as #88 and #65. This is just the beginning, so watch this space for more from TD.
