SOU's debut EP was self-released in 1998, and in 2000 they signed to RCA Records, working with friend/musical mentor Dean Ween to produce “The Orange EP". In 2001 RCA released "The Jack and Diane EP". And in 2002, the band released their first full-length album “You Are The Best” (produced by Keith Cleversley of Flaming Lips/Hum fame). Urchin then toured with diverse bands like Tenacious D, Mike Watt, Cracker, and Dio/Deep Purple/Scorpions, and had a video featured on MTV2 during that period.
In 2005, The Diamond album was released on Hybrid Recordings (produced by Adam Schlesinger of Fountains Of Wayne), with a 70’s arena-rock sound. Urchin toured incessantly building their fanbase, as well as performed on the CBS Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. In 2007, Urchin released the “Rejoice” album, showcasing the well-oiled touring machine the band had become.
SOU toured Rejoice through 2010, and then worked on the Black Castle album, which was released in 2014 on vinyl by Baby Gas Mask Records, bringing the band full-circle back to their eclectic roots.
Rock n’ Roll Forever.
