Having a recent failed attempt of his previous band, and about to graduate college, songwriter Dakota Davis was beginning to feel defeated in his music career.
Nearly giving up on music all together to peruse a predictable career in physics, Davis was prepared to take the path in front of him.

This was until the death of a dear friend and co-collaborator changed his perspective. Rushing through graduation, he moved back home and immediately set up a recording studio in his parents shed. Focusing on writing and recording his new material, he worked for months until finally "As A Creature of Temperature" was born. The album is a testament to where he is at with his sound right now.

The first single, “Into The Woods”, immediately grabs you with it's addictive ambience, followed moving seamlessly into it's almost haunting chorus as the track breathes while it plays on.
Although the single does speak volumes for the album, to get a real understanding of where Kauri is coming from, it should be heard in its entirety. All in all the record; comprised of a combination of both natural and digital instrumentation, gives that songs range from solemn ballads, to percussion driven masterpieces that challenge the songwriting standard.
