French harpsichordist Jean Rondeau began playing his instrument at age six, and studied with Blandine Verlet for ten years.
He studied at the Paris Conservatoire and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, working with Carole Cerasi and James Johnstone. He won first prize in the Musica Antiqua Festival's harpsichord competition in Bruges in 2012, and won the European Union Baroque Orchestra's Development Trust Prize, as well as taking second place in the Prague Spring International Harpsichord Competition later that year. In 2014, he was named Young Soloist in the Public Francophone Radio Competition, and he signed a contract with Erato in 2015. Rondeau also performs with the period ensemble Nevermind and plays piano with the jazz group Note Forget.
