The band arose from the ashes of Norwegian hardcore outfit Like Rats From A Sinking Ship, and spent their first few years touring the European underground. They also self-released the "On the Origin of Fæces" EP during this time, as well as a split 7" with Forræderi and a split 8" with Remote.
In 2014, Barren Womb inked a deal with Seattle-based Indie label Spartan Records for the release of their debut full-length, "The Sun’s Not Yellow, It’s Chicken". The album was met with critical praise and more touring ensued.
A split 7" with Grizzlor was released on Riotous Outburst Records for their 2015 US tour.
"Nique Everything", their sophomore album, hit the streets November 2015 through Spartan Records, which landed them a spot on several tours, including the "Dead Dawn European Tour" with Entombed A.D., Voivod, Lord Dying and Morbid Evils.
2017 saw the release of "Crown Control", an acoustic Record Store Day EP further pushing the boundaries of what the duo’s universe might contain.
