The dreamy electropop duo Paperwhite feature Ben and Katie Marshall, a pair of siblings who studied at the Berklee College of Music.
The Marshalls began writing songs together when they were teens, but didn't start Paperwhite until Katie graduated from Berklee in 2013. Taking their name from a type of narcissus flower, Katie handled singing and songwriting duties, while Ben (who is also the drummer for Savoir Adore) focused on producing and arranging their songs, along with co-writing and backing vocals. The duo's debut single, "Got Me Goin'," arrived in January 2014 and was soon followed by a string of tracks that were collected on the Magic EP at the end of the year. Paperwhite's second EP, 2016's Escape, earned the Marshalls critical acclaim as well as a strong following on streaming services. In 2017, several singles -- including "Human Nature," "Wash Us Away," and "Only Us" -- preceded an EP that was expected later that year. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
