In the early spring of 2008 William Skok; Asphyxian, began working on a barebones stoner project aiming to catch the vibe of the gritty western films by Clint Eastwood in an audio format.
This ultra lo-fi records “The Price of Redemption” was recorded in his Ohio basement throughout the spring.
While the record has its high points most notably Ruiner & The Ceeder Saloon. The album remained little more than a cult favorite among fans.
The following two years produced the E.P. “And I will be, until I die” and the full length record “The Various Complications Of Sleeping With A Corpse”
The future direction of the band had been laid in stone with the albums final dark hurrah, “The Misadventures Of StinkBadguy”
The band signed with a small time record company out of Australia, who re-released the previous 3 albums. Then toured shortly for the album regionally.
Back in the studio they spent 8 months on their final project together; a dark cannabis-fueled rabbit hole of abstract music writing, “Sinners”.
Shortly before the completion of the album, after a show in New York, Jeff left the band. This was a catalyst that led to a complete reformation.
September 2012 saw a drastic change to Asphyxian 's lineup.
“The Beauty in Pestilence” was recorded in the following 3 months, but not immediately released.
They toured shortly in Akron, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, & Chicago before taking an extended hiatus, due to personal responsibilities
