Born and raised in Hamilton, Canada, Emilio Bonito began playing the piano at the age of 4. A decade of piano training from the Royal Conservatory of Music provided the young artist with a solid musical foundation. After picking up the guitar at age 9, the young musician began developing his own repertoire based on expansive tastes that grew to include avant-garde metal, progressive rock, indie folk, and psychedelic pop. “Everything from The Mars Volta to Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver,” explains Bonito.
Bonito’s music fuses his eclectic influences into an artful mix of new and old. CBC Radio described his debut single “Marth” as “a great example of contemporary fingerstyle guitar.” Subsequent releases including “Augusto” and “Tenderly” have explored themes of rumination, introspection and personal discovery.
His latest release "Wherever the Wind Blows" features two guitars – one acoustic, and one classical – combining together to weave a gentle dreamlike narrative.
