In 2007 they recorded their first cd, “Songar frå Havdal”, with folk music from the North-west coast of Norway. This cd became a bestseller for the record Company “Ta:lik”. The second cd, “Keramello”, came in 2010. This cd was selected winner out of a list of strong nominees for the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy; “Spellemannprisen” 2010. They also awarded the Folk Music Award “Folkelarmprisen” the same year. In 2013 they released their third album "White birds". All songs are written by Unni Boksasp and arranged by the Ensemble. “White birds” awarded the Norwegian Folk Music Award.
Unni Boksasp Ensemble has for over ten years been among the most exciting ensembles of the contemporary Norwegian folk scene. With their latest album they completely reinterpret the original tunes that form the basis for Edvard Grieg's Opus 72 Slaatter, in an groundbreaking and engaging mix of folk, classical, with some slight jazz influences.
