Described as an ‘artist whose overwhelming musicality goes beyond his instrument’ (Il Sole24Ore), in 2018 Samuele won 1st Prize at the Arassate-Hiria Competition in Spain and in 2013 1st Prize in the Castelfidardo Competition in Italy.
He was selected by YCAT (Young Classical Artists Trust) in 2019. Highlights include recitals at the Società dei Concerti (Milan), Amici della Musica di Padova, Cité de la Danse et la Musique (Strasbourg), IUC, Amici della Musica di Firenze and Berlin Philharmonie. As soloist with orchestra he premiered Enrico Blatti’s Concerto with the State Hermitage Orchestra in St. Petersburg and Galliano’s Opale with I Virtuosi Italiani. In 2017 he released his first solo Accordion CD LIMES (VDM Records). In 2020 with Duo Essentia, accordion and clarinet, they published their first CD BROKEN SHAKE (EMA Vinci Records.
Engagements during the 2020/21 season include recitals at Wigmore Hall, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Verbier Academy Festival, Schlern Music and Ryedale Festivals. He collaborates with Ema Nikolovska (mezzo), the Castalian Quartet and Quatour Hermes, and records for Delphian.
Other prizes awarded include : "Premio Valentino Bucchi", "Premio Abbado", "Premio Luigi Nono".
He got his Accordion Degree in "S.Cecilia" Conservatory in Rome, with the maximum of votes and laude. Born in Spoleto (Italy), Samuele is accordion professor at the Conservatory ‘Gesuado da Venosa’ in Potenza, ‘Bruno Maderna’ in Cesena and ‘F.A.Bonporti’ in Trento.
