Andreas Ihlebæk was born in Oslo, and grew up in Hamburg, Germany and San Francisco, California. His «unique blend of soul and Norwegian folk music» (Dagens Næringsliv) is the sound of all the influences that have shaped him over the years flowing together. The press has called him in «a rising star in modern classical» (Gezeitenstrom) and an innovator in soul, jazz and in folk music:
«Andreas Ihlebæk has managed to give folk pop an entirely new dimension. The result is intelligent pop music, beyond comparison, delivered on the level of Kate Bush and Peter Gabriel. With The Guest he has simply made a masterpiece».
Following the release, The Guest was performed in its entirety as part of the 40th anniversary of Oslo Concert Hall - home to the Oslo Philharmonic.
His first release on classical/jazz label Naxos is the live studio EP «A Night at Studio Paradiso», featuring Nosizwe, Sisi, Anders Tjore, Rikke Normann and Viola Bjelland. The video for the first single «The End of the Sky» receives a video premiere on the prestigious jazz magazine JAZZ THING on June 20th.
