"There's a kind of magic that happens every now and then during a recording session," says singer/songwriter Will McMillan, "when everyone finds themselves together in the moment.
Those musical moments are what Doug and I treasure..."
McMillan has been making music with award-winning pianist @DougHammer for over 25 years.
Recently they've begun releasing recordings from their decades-long collaboration.
"Not only is Doug a tremendous pianist," continues McMillan, "he is also a gifted engineer who has built a terrific studio — including a Schimmel grand piano — north of Boston, MA."
Hammer and McMillan have performed up and down the east coast of the USA in venues ranging from Scullers Jazz Club in Boston to Spring Island off the coast of South Carolina.
McMillan has won two performance awards from the Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE), has been a Fellow at the O’Neill Theater Center’s Cabaret Symposium, and a participant at the Cabaret Conference at Yale.
His recordings include: Blame Those Gershwins (with pianist Steve Sweeting — If I Loved You (with singer Bobbi Carrey and pianist Doug Hammer — and Reel One (with pianist/singer Brian Patton and singers Nina Vansuch and Michael Ricca).
