Kajsa Vala is a Danish / Icelandic folk-roots artist residing in Aarhus, Denmark.
She writes and plays a wonderful mix of rock, folk, roots and americana - in the vein of her female heroes Sheryl Crow, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris and Patty Griffin. Kajsa is completely unique and her sound is raw, but with a hint of scandinavian melancholy. She is a furiously skilled guitarist who handles everything from dobro to electric guitar, and her voice is strong with a haunting vulnerability. Live, she has a fabulous band that wins new audiences wherever they go. Most recently, they have won the Fatter Eskil Prize of DKK 25,000. And a performance at SPOT Festival next year. GAFFA has just nominated their concert at this years SPOT festival as one of the best festival concerts in Denmark throughout the year.
