Superdose Gangway began in late 2015 as a first-time collaboration between long-time friends Max Tulysewski (Donnarumma, The Heggarties) and guitarist Liam Gare, formed as the result of a shared love of emo revivalists The Hotelier, Into It.
Over It. and Tiny Moving Parts. The following year, they embarked on a project called ‘twenty-six songs in twenty-sixteen’ which saw them composing, recording and releasing a new song every fortnight. Upon completion of this project, the band released a best-of mixtape called ‘Monsoon Season’ through US indie label Old Press Records.
2017 saw the band grow to a quintet with the introduction of drummer Craig Burns (Dalloway), bassist Ned Heggart (Goonbomb, JD Gunslinger) and guitarist Ben Finnis (Tuzmore). With this lineup, they began performing regularly, including appearances at Secret Garden Fest, Twinkle Daddies Fortune Fest and support slots for Azim Zain and His Lovely Bones (NSW) and Spilt Cities (WA). The same year, the group started work on their debut EP ‘Temple Bay’, the first single of which, Nothing Gold, was included in a 4-way split 7” with Summerbruise (US), Gun Shy (UK) and The East (IT).
