Ella Playford is an award-winning acoustic singer songwriter, whose songs dive into the depths of themes such as love, loss, life and pain.
Her sound is captivating and spine chilling: combining powerful vocals, intricate guitar lines and heartfelt lyrics to create pieces which radiate pure emotion and leave listeners pining for more. Her debut EP Feel, released in February of 2019, beautifully showcases her signature stunning raw vocals, accompanied by a warm guitar tone, sparkling strings and a sprinkling of harmonies. Each original song tells its own story whilst allowing space for the listener to extract their own meaning from the lyrics. Born and bred in Leeds, Ellas love for music derives from an early age as she started taking guitar, piano and vocal lessons from around 10 years old. Ever since then, her passion for all things musical has grown into an undeniable talent. Somewhere along the way, Ella also acquired a passion and talent for song writing which over the past few years has expanded into an ability to pen songs with her own emotional, clever, storytelling style of lyricism. An eclectic music taste has always been in Ella’s possession, with her likes ranging from heavy rock and indie to acoustic folk and jazz. This is evident in her own work as her unique style is a culmination of multiple elements found in a wide range of genres. Some of Ella‘s biggest influences include Lucy Rose, Laura Marling, Arctic Monkeys and Ben Howard.
