Bristol's kaleidoscopic collective Pocket Sun craftily combine wavy synths and intimate vocals to create a radiant beam of dream pop grooves. With their warm, hyper-melodic sound (think early MGMT, Little Dragon), the band’s velvety electronica is littered with synth-fuelled rhythms, percussive bass and cosmic harmonies. A futuristic sound teamed with songwriting that, all the while, feels oddly familiar and nostalgic. Not to mention sporadic bursts of left field wonkyness and synth laden wig outs thrown in for good measure. Their debut self-produced single ‘Plastic’ gained attention from BBC Introducing, "such a feel-good, sublime sound” and Breaking More Waves, ”a technicolour pop song of perfection”. This year Pocket Sun have some exciting and fresh material up their sleeves, including an upcoming EP produced by Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Gruff Rhys, Perfume Genius, Rachael Dadd), as well as some dynamic collaborations.
