Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Forrest Hill, began writing music while hitchhiking across the country through post-Vietnam America.
He encountered plenty of suffering along the way, as well as people working to make a positive change in the world. These experiences have continued to provide him with lyrical inspiration and shaped his musical career choices throughout his life.
Growing up in Detroit, Forrest grew to love Motown, Funk and Jazz. He eventually moved to Boston and co-founded the funk rock band Judy’s Tiny Head (JTH), which released two EPs including the 1985
single My Car, a rap diatribe on material excess and the human spirit. My Car enjoyed copious amounts of air play in Boston and became a top hit on college radio. JTH went on to performed with the Violent Femmes, Run DMC, Deborah Harry, Paul Young and Aimee Mann and record with famed music producer Teddy Riley.
In 2016, Forrest released his first solo album Rust. The album received heavy airplay on college radio and garnered TV licensing agreements on several TV networks.
Forrest has just finished a new twelve song album entitled ShadowLight. The songs incorporate cellos, horns, and background
vocals by the fabulous T Sisters to give this indie folk album a lush heartfelt style. Beholden to no single formula, the writing is influence by such artist as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, The Talking Heads, The Beatles, Paul Simon, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Munford & Sons and others.
